Frequently
Asked Questions

Do you do nails, teeth, ears and glands?

Yes, those routine hygiene needs are included.

Nails, enzymatic dental treatment, ears, glands, and the other small details are part of the service. No need to ask or keep track of add-ons. We take care of what your dog needs.

How do I tip my groomer?

The tip is already included in our pricing, so there’s nothing extra you need to calculate at the end of the appointment.

If you’d like to send your groomer a little extra, just ask our secretary and we’ll help with that.

Why is it more expensive? Are there hidden fees?

Mobile grooming is a higher-touch service, and we’re thoughtful about every part of it.

You’re paying for one-on-one care, a calm kennel-free environment, the convenience of grooming at home, high-quality products, and a team we invest in well. We also keep pricing flat and predictable, so you’re not surprised by add-ons for things we believe should already be included.

That means no extra charges for nails, teeth, ears, glands, matting, behavior, deshedding, tax, or tip. What you see is what you pay.

What if my dog is anxious?

That’s exactly the kind of dog we’re used to caring for.

We work with patience, gentle handling, and a calm one-on-one approach. If your dog shows signs of stress, we slow down, adjust, and keep the experience as positive as we can. Many of our clients came to us after difficult salon experiences and are surprised by how calm and comfortable their dogs are with mobile grooming.

What if I have a senior dog?

We’re very gentle with senior dogs and always handle them with extra care, patience, and dignity.

Older dogs often need more support, more breaks, and a slower pace, and that’s exactly how we approach them. We pay close attention to comfort throughout the appointment and adjust as needed to keep things as peaceful as possible.

Is mobile grooming really less stressful?

For many dogs, yes.

There’s no car ride, no loud salon, no kennel, and no long wait surrounded by unfamiliar people and dogs. Grooming happens in a quiet, cozy van right outside their home, with one groomer focused on your dog from start to finish. That consistency helps many dogs relax and build confidence over time.

What if my dog is matted or behind on grooming?

That’s okay. Truly.

We don’t judge, and we don’t charge extra just because life got busy or grooming fell behind. We’re simply glad we can help. No matter how your dog comes to us, we’ll care for them kindly and do what we can to get them comfortable, cleaned up, and feeling better.

What if I don't know what haircut to ask for?

That’s completely fine.

You don’t need to know grooming terminology to get a cut you love. We’ll ask a few simple questions, talk through the look you want, and help guide you from there. Photos are always welcome too.

When should my puppy get their first groom?

We usually recommend starting around 12 to 16 weeks, depending on your puppy and your veterinarian’s guidance.

Early appointments help puppies get comfortable with grooming in a gentle, positive way. We keep those first visits focused on building trust, not forcing every last detail. As they get used to the routine, they learn our flow and often become more confident with each visit.

What if my dog is aggressive?

It depends on the situation, but we’re always happy to talk it through honestly.

Some dogs need a slower approach, extra patience, or a more individualized plan. We’re open to working with certain dogs who struggle with grooming, including some who need sedation.

If your dog has had a hard time with grooming before, reach out. We’re happy to talk about whether we’re the right fit.

Do you groom my dog inside my home?

No. The full appointment takes place inside our grooming van.

Our vans are fully equipped for grooming, and we do our best to be self-sufficient. Occasionally we may need to plug in or use an outdoor water connection, but most of the time we have everything we need with us.

Do I have to be home for the service?

We do prefer that you’re home at the beginning of the appointment so your dog feels comfortable being handed off to us.

Once the appointment is underway, you’re welcome to leave if needed. When your dog is finished, we’re happy to bring them safely back inside.

What do I need to do beforehand?

Very little.

We want this to feel easy. On appointment day, all you really need to do is hand your dog off to us. We bring what we need and take care of the rest.

How long does an appointment take?

Most appointments take about 90 minutes, depending on your dog’s coat and needs.

Some dogs need a little more time, especially if they’re matted, senior, or just need a slower pace. We never want the appointment to feel rushed.

Do you use perfumes or colognes?

No, we don’t use heavy perfumes or colognes.

We use products that are clean, light, and pleasant without leaving your dog smelling overly scented for days. We’re thoughtful about what goes on your dog’s skin and coat.
